On the doughnut shape

The universe is doughnut shaped - thanks Baphomet for that nice thing to tell, especially as there is a way to understand this as much much more than a funny joke. In his book 'Holos', well established and respected scientist Ervin Laszlo (available both in English and German) shows how:
At the beginning of the 20th century science was looking for a new paradigm of how matter and the universe are constructed to incorporate the new knowledge that had been created in physics, chemistry etc durcing the last decades. One possible choice was the atom modell that
we all know and that is treated as ultimate reality in our world today; yet there were alternative modells but the scientific process of selecting the best modell wasn't fully based on the scientific facts and an open discussion if their implications - it is said to have been quite personal and unfair...
The atom modell states that matter is constructed by atoms - the smallest an not further dividable units, which 'just' exist out of themselves within the void space - no observer, no more levels of the universe unterneath them. Well later physics discovered that atoms are in fact composed of neurons, electrons etc, but for the atom modell this just meant that the level of the smallest and undividable things moved down the scale a few more steps and the basic notion of the atom modell was still unchallenged. In a world described by that modell, matter
exists out of itself so all things in the universe are seperated.
An alternative (then rejected) view describes the world as based on a field (aether, kia, ...) which spans space filled with energy flowing. Fields in motion can form various types of waves as they can also be observed in gasses and fluids and one of those forms, the torus (like a smokering) is a very stable and durable form of flow. The other
modell proposes that such doughnut shaped wavelets within the aether constitute the smallest observable units of matter - observable once their frequency (rate of rotation) is low enaugh. In such a universe,
every material thing is an aspect of a field and all those object fields together form the universal field of the universe (the aether, kia, ..) - so all things are aspects of the same underlying field, they are all on - hence 'WE are all one' und 'all things are one'.
What a difference!
It seems possible to me that Mister Baphomet expressed his preference for the latter modell when he told us in his ultimate answer that the universe is doughnut shaped. As above so below - macro and micro level - form of the universe and form of the matter's building blocks...

I find it interesting
the more and more I read on new ideas in science, how similar the "theories" are to those expressed in "primitive" shamanic based religion.
The donut idea might also be a good explanation for why thoughts and ideas can travel the globe and emerge simultaneously, even among non human species....

no 'Doughnut Paradigm'
Laszlo comes from a strictly scientific point of view and yet heavily argues for a holostic paradigm, for a world created from and driven by spirit as opposed to a world of pre-existing matter seperate from us.
So he is giving my psychic cencors some elaborate reasons to let go of a world of competition and survival only of the fittest and of wealth just for the strongest, of the neo liberal notion of 'the jungle out there'; and it makes my cencors give way to a magical paradigm of 'we are all one', that is that everything is an aspect of the same global continuum of consciousness. I find this idea much more joyfully and fulfilling and effective (effect = result devided by effort) - and this is also much more aligned with the spiritual feelings and lonings I eventually discovered within myself (aka my personal true magickal will).
Therefore Laszlo's writing to me is not a magickal paradigmin for my rituals in itself, but it serves me as a rationale for what I have chosen as my own preferred and primary paradigm within the freedom of choice that chaosmagick gives me (that freedom is what I love ChaosMagick so much for): I once decided I wanted my life to be as easy, as full of joy an wealth and so on as possible - and to me this is essentially created by the definition of a universe where WE ARE ALL ONE, all connected to each other and with every thing there is - no elbows needed, nor weapons.
Thanks Baphomet to tell us the universe's shape - and 'as above so below' - the microcosms structure as well; thanx Ervin Laszlo for explaining that picture rationally; thanx ChaosMagick for providing the freedom to personally use that as a rationale for a paradigm of at-one-ness.
